Vanessa has many skills as a teacher. She offers insight from many years of training and performing. Her experience gives her the ability to relate to the problems that singers face as well as offer solutions and practical exercises to overcome these problems. She has a very amienable nature that allowed me to feel comfortable and relaxed. She also has the ability to be firm when it was necessary to get me moving.
The skills that she teaches are straightforward, simple and achieve results. I had around twenty lessons with Vanessa, and over that time my voice has shown dramatic improvement. I went from what i would consider a natural singer with a bit of ability to what i now believe is a professional singer with impressive skills. I can see this in the reactions of audience members, as well as the reactions from members of my bands. Most importantly, i can see it in myself. I have trust in my ability as well as excitement about the things i can now do.

I, Anna Petrie have been a vocal student of Vanessa Hoffman for the past ten months. As an original singer/songwriter and current Bachelor of Contemporary Music with honours student from Southern Cross University, I have found Vanessa’s tuition very helpful in achieving my personal and scholastic goals. Vanessa’s personable manner and excellent communication skills has enabled an individualised discovery of my vocal precesses and potential vocal outcomes. During this time I have extended my range, improved the integrity of my vocal tone and acquired an awareness of specific classical and contemporary vocal techniques to enable individualised vocal expressivity.
